Alameda County Fair is a 501c3 non-profit organization

About 900 volunteers of all ages and abilities help out at the Fair each year. Here’s what a few have to say about their experience:

“When you volunteer at the fair you feel like you’re a part of making it the best fair ever, and it’s great seeing people young and old having so much fun with family and friends. I think volunteering at the fair is one of my happiest times of the year. Everyone should try it one time -- I know you will be back.” – Ron, Livermore Amador Valley Garden Club

“The best part for me is getting to go to the fair (for free!) and be an “insider” for a few hours.  I like that you actually get to know a particular area when you are there for an extended time, instead of just the “once over” you do if you are trying to see the whole fair in one visit.  I like seeing and talking to the people, too.” – Millie, American Association of University Women

“Even though I work full time, I thoroughly enjoy coming to the fair and volunteering. I feel like I am making a difference. I have an impact. People should consider volunteering because it's fun and fulfilling.” – Brenda, Boy Scouts Troop 931

“My favorite part of volunteering is helping the fairgoers to know where to go and what things are happening at the fair, especially families with children. My favorite thing at the fair this last summer was the mother pig with the 10 piglets. It was fun to see how fast they grew in the 17 days of the fair.” – Sally, American Association of University Women

“We volunteer to support the fair and keep it going and growing.  It is an annual community event for everyone. We have lived in Pleasanton for over 35 years, and have attended the fair every year. Our fair is the BEST anywhere! The exhibits, entertainment, carnival and food, all keep getting bigger and better every year.” --Bob and Cynthia, American Legion Post 237
