Get the whole family on board with hands-on, educational fun every Thursday through Sunday at Alameda County Fair’s STEAM-themed Weekends! Kids will have a blast learning while they play.

NEW THIS YEAR – Power Station

Visit our newly re-engineered attraction that explores alternative energy sources.  The Power Station offers a fantastic mix of interactive experiences and hands-on STEAM education. Become a human powered generator as you explore and challenge wind, water and solar energy.

Celebrate Father’s Day the fun way – team up for the “Dad & Me” obstacle course challenge!

LEGO Festival Hello Summer Large Scale LEGO Build

Saturday June 30

Stop by and help build a LEGO landscape welcoming summer and the fair. Your LEGO creation will be added to the floor plan of a LARGE build that grows throughout the afternoon. LEGOS will be provided.

Agriculture & Environment

June 21-24

Discover the wild & wonderful world around you: food, plants, weather, water, wind and the technology that keeps it all working together. Includes a variety of fun activities adapted by NASA, the USDA, American Farm Bureau, Scholastic Boom and Seed Your Future.

Engineering & Electronics

June 28-July 1

Explore the exciting world of robotics, engineering, electronics & space!  Kids will enjoy a variety of NASA-inspired art & science activities, robot demonstrations, Lego building, creating simple machines, gears & circuits and more.


Saturday, June 30

In partnership with Play-Well Teknologies, LEGO Day celebrates engineering fun with a variety of challenges for all block-building enthusiasts. Highlights include Model & Mechanism Building contests (online pre-registration required.) Drop-in activities and free play & build are also offered throughout the day.


Robot Day

Sunday, July 1

Robot Day offers a variety of fun, hands-on activities, demonstrations and other surprises. Presented in partnership with Aviation Explorer Post #997 and Robot Garden.

Art & Energy

July 5-8

Science becomes Art with wind, water & solar energy as pattern, form & texture. Explore alternative energy with experiments & activities, then create beautiful art using some of these energy sources. Get inspired by NASA images of the earth from space!
