Grass Fed Beef, A Win-Win-Win Relationship
The Ranch offers direct to consumer grass fed beef from cattle raised in the Livermore Valley. The relationship between the cattle and the land is beneficial all around.
Win #1 – Cattle grazing on the grassland helps build soil, sequester carbon, protect watersheds and natural resources
Win #2 – The cattle are happier, healthier cows as a result
Win #3 – Consumers who purchase the beef receive a healthier, ethically sourced local product
Pollinator Program
- Monarch butterflies species numbers are drastically declining, to the point of potential extinction
- The Sisters noticed one monarch butterfly and its eggs perched on some asclepias fascicularis (AKA: narrow leaf milkweed, the monarch’s butterfly only source of food)
- The Sisters worked with a grant from the Xerces Society and other funding by the Alameda County Resource Conservation District (RCD) to create a conservation program which increases the milkweed and other pollinator attracting plants on the ranch
If you see a Monarch at the Fairgrounds, it might be visiting from the ranch!
