Mission
Their mission is to elevate life for youth and their families in Oakland and beyond through urban farming and access to the natural environment. Founded and led mainly by women and People of Color, ANV engages youth and families in safe and creative outdoor spaces in the East Bay. ANV strengthens young people’s understanding of nutrition, food production, healthy living and the natural environment.

- Created for urban kids to experience agriculture
- Some children in this area have never been exposed to veggies growing in the ground
- Offering the community a chance to reach the recommended daily amount of fruits and vegetables who don’t usually have access
Youth Urban Farm
- Kids: offers safe after school programs, camps, youth leadership development programs and MORE!
- Community: fresh produce in a “food desert”– only 2 grocery stores within 3 miles providing limited fresh produce
Community Driven
- ANV’s farms directly serve their community’s need for fresh, health foods with their CSA box
- Their camps and after school programs provides a safe haven for kids to learn about agriculture
